The first text that we reviewed in this English course was, The Tragedy of Macbeth. This play was written by William Shakespeare in the 16th century. The plot follows a brave Scottish general named Macbeth, who receives a prophecy from three witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and pushed into action by his wife, Macbeth murders the king and takes the throne for himself.

Our main summative project for this unit was to create a seminar based on the tyrannical figure of Macbeth. For this we had to find and relate a real life tyrant to Macbeth. I worked with my friends, Zaac and Katie. You can click here to visit the weebly site on our Macbeth vs. Ivan IV seminar!
